Bombing of Poems / Santiago de Chile
La Moneda Palace, the symbol of Chilean democracy, was destroyed by Pinochet in 1973, ushering in one of the darkest eras in the history of our country. Since then the building had become a sad reminder of these events until March 21st, 2001, when it was the subject of another bombing, this time with the poems of 40 young Chilean authors.
To bomb La Moneda with poems was a political gesture in opposition to Pinochet and opposed to any kind of dictatorship anywhere in the world.
